This human skull is the last (for now) in my series of animal skulls. Like the others it was done in ink on bristol board and cleaned up in Adobe Photoshop. Prints are available at my store, along with t-shirts, mugs, laptop skins, tote bags, and other interesting swag. And just as a re-cap, these were all previous pieces: Advertisements
This is the latest design in the series of animal skulls I am working on. I started painting this horse skull a while ago, but ended up taking a break from it to concentrate on getting the initial designs ready for my society6 online store. Now it’s finished and it’s joining the others. :D This makes a total of four skulls available on society6. And now in addition to apparel, all four designs are also available on mugs and laptop/ipad […]
My third design is now available on Society6 as prints, t-shirts, hoodies, and other items. This skull is Ovis aries, the common sheep. All my Society6 merchandise is on sale until the 9th as well. Click this link to get $5 off everything and free worldwide shipping!
In honor of Halloween and INKtober, the first two skull designs have now been put up on my Society6 store. Now you can buy art prints, t-shirts, hoodies, and other merchandise with my art on them. Here is design one: And design two: The font used in these images is called “Honey Script” and can be downloaded for free on dafont. More skulls are in the works, and other types of merchandise (like coffee mugs) will be available soon too. […]
Who doesn’t love skulls? A couple months ago I went to the “Skulls” exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences. I’ve always enjoyed drawing skulls. They have such interesting shapes and contours, and there are no shiny parts or fur to worry about. So I decided to do a series of animal skulls. They are going to be part of a cool project, but for now, here are just the first three skulls I did. Drawn from photo reference. Painted in […]
So, pretty much the best way to improve your ability to paint or draw is to draw from life. To work on my skills with color and light, I went to the park near my house a while ago and painted this tree. It’s roughly 9″ x 7″, done in water color on 150lb watercolor paper. I took all my supplies to the park, picked a tree that I thought looked cool, and sat down in the grass to work. I only […]
As part of the ongoing Aurica project, I make art pieces for a Pathfinder tabletop roll-playing game. For anyone not familiar with what that is, it’s very similar to Dungeons and Dragons. Players create fictitious characters to go on adventures orchestrated by a game master. Usually that means physically sitting in a group around a table laden with pizza, dice, paper and pencils, and game pieces placed on a mat marked with a grid. But in my case, I (the […]
This is a collection of some of the work I did for All About Pins, a company that makes custom lapel pins, keychains, lanyards, etc. I worked for them for about a year and worked on multiple pin projects per day. All told I probably did vector graphics and photoshop mock-ups for hundreds and hundreds of pins, but these are the ones that seemed the best to me. Some were done from client art that already existed, such as a […]
This the latest version of a book cover I’m currently working on. It’s probably not the absolute final version that will actually go to “print” (this book is going to be published digitally) but it’s pretty close. The only relevant question is this: if you saw this book in the Science Fiction section of your local bookstore (and assuming you were looking for a sci/fi book to read) would you want to check it out? I think I would.
